Frequently Asked Questions
These questions are strictly for everyday sessions and features of the barn, if you are looking for answers to your summer camp questions please click here.
What is Woodward at Copper?
a. Woodward at Copper is possibly the raddest place on the planet. Some even call it the premier trick-stomping playground in the world. It features The Barn, a 19,400 sq. ft. comprehensive ski and snowboard freestyle training facility complete with indoor artificial snow jumps, jib lines, foam pits, skate features and Olympic fly-bed trampolines, offering indoor and outdoor training programs where you can learn tricks in the Barn and take them on snow the same day. Woodward at Copper is the first winter focused Woodward action Sports Camp specifically dedicated to snowboarding skiing. Woodward at Copper provides a safe learning environment for all levels of park and pipe riders (or new park and pipe riders) through established progressive training techniques. We believe in the individual progression of athletes and build our programming around each participant’s goals. Woodward at Copper has a variety of products for the winter season – Camp Days, One Hit Wonder sessions, Drop in sessions, and Skate/BMX only sessions. In the summer Woodward at Copper will be providing week long residential and day camps with both on snow and off hill programming.
What will a participant learn if they sign up for a Woodward at Copper program?
a. Based on the abilities and the goals of the participant the Woodward at Copper coaching staff will be able to work with them on anything from their first grab to figuring out how to spin a trick, to innovating the newest trick to hit the scene like “triple corks.”
How is this safer than other training environments?
a. The Woodward at Copper model uses the most progressive training techniques through the development of body and aerial awareness both on the slopes as well as in the Barn. The Barn features Olympic grade Flybed trampolines, a spotting rig, a spring floor, 3 foam pits with 23,000 cubes of foam, Snowflex jumps, and other training devices that allow a participant to work on the trick in an environment that reduces the potential for consequence. By allowing participants to work on tricks into foam pits instead of on snow we are teaching customers to move away from the “huck and hope” method.
How does one get to the Barn?
a. Customers can drop off participants using the drop off area right in front of the Barn. A small parking lot is available around the west side of the Lodging Front Desk/Athletic Club adjacent to the old firehouse. Guests can follow the Woodward at Copper parking signs. Additional parking is available at the pay Chapel Lot or for free at the Alpine lot. b. From the Alpine lot customers can take the black route shuttle to the East Village. Here they will need to transfer onto the Village loop shuttle and request the Lodging Front Desk/Athletic Club/Woodward at Copper bus stop. c. Folks coming from summit County can hop on the Summit Stage to Copper and request the Woodward at Copper stop which drops you off right at the Barn. d.
